Atlantic City casinos were supposed to be undergoing a re-birth this year. Several casino were in the proce4ss of being renovated, while others were knocked down in the hopes of building bigger and better facilities.
Reality has not turned out to be in line with the expectations for 2008. The economy has driven a stake through the expansion plans, and the existing casinos are struggling mightily.
November revenue figures have been released and Atlantic City casinos have once again seen their revenue figures decline. They are down over seven percent from the same month a year ago.
The casinos won $345.5 million in November this year. Their slot revenue took a dive, down over twelve percent. The $228.4 million was due largely to the economy and expansion of casinos in neighboring states.
